MONDAY
  • MAY 20 - DAY 2
  • In support of the Joshua Kaye Foundation's Bottle Cap Art Project, we will continue collecting clean plastic bottle caps in the cafe through the end of this week.
  • Want to play one of your teachers in Fortnite? Have a reading picnic outside one day? Want to finally pull the shower lever in your science teacher’s classroom? You will have the chance to win these prizes and many more for as little as $1! All you need to do is purchase raffle tickets during lunch this week. Every ticket will count as one entry in the raffle of your choice. Winners will be announced on May 30, and teachers will be in contact with the winners of their raffles.
  • Get your Scholastic book orders in by May 24.  Go to Mrs. Whitt's website for ordering information.
  • All 7th graders will be taking the math MCAS this morning.  Please be quiet as you walk through the 8th grade hall and by the library.  All staff, please be sure to check the coverage schedule and be in your assigned locations throughout the morning.  Bells will be off and CC will not be done over the intercom, so teachers should send students according to the clocks and lead CC in your classroom.  The following classes will be relocated today:

TUESDAY

  • MAY 21 - DAY 1
  • All 7th graders will be taking the math MCAS this morning.  Please be quiet as you walk through the 7th grade hall and by the library.  All staff, please be sure to check the coverage schedule and be in your assigned locations throughout the morning.  Bells will be off and CC will not be done over the intercom, so teachers should send students according to the clocks and lead CC in your classroom.  The following classes will be relocated today:
    • Ms. Kinslow's A period class report to rm 243 (Schad/Tobin)
  • Please empty your recyling bins into the larger bins in the hallway before the end of the day today.
  • SILENT STUDY/HW ROOM: Ms. Schad room (rm 243)
  • AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES: Community Service Club (FACS rm), Green Team (library), Book Club (rm 109), After School Athletics (gym)

WEDNESDAY

  • MAY 22 - DAY 2
  • All 8th graders will be taking the S/TE MCAS this morning.  Please be quiet as you walk through the 8th grade hall and by the library.  All staff, please be sure to check the coverage schedule and be in your assigned locations throughout the morning.  Bells will be off and CC will not be done over the intercom, so teachers should send students according to the clocks and lead CC in your classroom.  The following classes will be relocated today:
    • Mrs. Kinsman's A, C and E period class will meet in the community room.
    • Ms. Kinslow's B and C period class will meet in room 213 (Mrs. Zych/Mr. Brust
  • The NMS Community Service Club will be hosting our annual ”Birthday Box” event from May 21-28.  Classrooms will be collecting supplies for local children to help them celebrate their birthday. All classrooms have been paired together to create teams.  These teams will compete to win a royal crown by filling their themed box. Please check your email for more detailed information.
  • This Friday, May 24 we will be having a blackout.  During a backout all students are asked to dress in all black.  This is a spirit da to block out all the hate by wering this color.  We ask you to participate to come together as a school and prevent further hate.

THURSDAY
  • MAY 23 - DAY 1

  • Last week overdue notices were sent to all students who owe materials to the NMS library.  Students are asked to return overdue materials this week.  The NMS library will be closed to students for the remainder of the school year beginning Monday, June 3rd.  All library materials must be returned to the library no later than Friday May 31st.  Any students who have not returned their library materials by June 3rd will be mailed a bill for the total amount of the missing items.  If you have questions, please see Mrs. Kinsman.
  • May 29 is the last day to log reading for the book challenge.

FRIDAY

  • Thanks to everyone for participating in today's Blackout to block out all hate and to the SG for promoting this event today.
  • Fill those Birthday Boxes!  Each pair of HRs has until May 28 to fill their box. Remember, by donating items you could win your HR teacher a Royal Crown AND you could make the day of a child in need!

  • Congratulations to all students who had their art shown at the Fine Arts Festival last night and to the chorus on their awesome performance!  A special thanks to Mrs. Finn and Mrs. Running for all the work they put into last night's event!
  • Congratulations to the winner of the End Plastic Pollution Art Contest! Anyone who participated in the art contest gets a reusable bag (donated by stop and shop).  Stop by the art room to pick up your bags and prizes.
