Welcome to Fourth Grade & Room 16!

Hello Everyone and Welcome to Fourth Grade

I am so excited to be back for another year teaching Fourth Grade at Cole School!  I am truly looking forward to an amazing year together in Room 16!

I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Nancy Thompson and this will be my fifteenth year teaching.  I spent my first ten years teaching in Hingham, graduating from teaching Preschool to Kindergarten, and ultimately to many years teaching Fourth Grade. I am very much looking forward to my fifth year at Cole!  I attended Northeastern University where I earned my Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education and Special Education. I am married with three children who are entering sixth, eighth, and ninth grades this year.

I look forward to meeting you all in person at our Curriculum Night which is scheduled for Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 6:30-7:30.  This is an informational evening for parents only.

Below I have some important information for the start of our year:
Communication: Communication is the key to a great relationship.  One of my most important goals is to keep the lines of communication open with you.  I will send updates weekly to let you know what is happening in Room 16. I encourage you to contact me if you have any questions or concerns at any time.  Feel free to send a note, email me at nancy.thompson@norwellschools.org, or call me at 781-659-8823.

Supplies: No supplies are needed at this time.  All of the supplies we need to start the year will be in our classroom on our first day.  If you have purchased supplies please keep them at home and set up a school area for at home assignments. If you would like to donate to our classroom, some things we can always use to keep the classroom running smoothly are disinfecting wipes, tissues, hand sanitizer, ziploc bags, and sticky notes (all shapes, sizes, and colors).

Students should bring a pair of inexpensive headphones to leave at school to use with our ipads.  Please place these in a labeled ziploc bag.

Agendas: All students will receive an agenda to keep track of homework and assignments.

First Day: Please bring a nut free snack & drink, a water bottle, a lunch or arrangements to buy one, a book to enjoy, and a smile on our first day.  I will be waiting for you in the gym when you arrive! I can’t wait!

I can't wait to see all of you on the first day!  We will have many enriching experiences and opportunities to learn and grow in the days ahead!
