The Office of Instruction is charged with overseeing and coordinating all instructional programs and services in Norwell Public Schools. These include the coordination of K-12 Curriculum, Instructional Technology, Professional Development opportunities for staff, State and Federal Grants Management, and the administration of the Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS). The Office also monitors the implementation of both federal and state laws and regulations concerning Homeless Education, Home-Schooled Students, Civil Rights, English Language Learners, and Special Education.
The Office of Instruction also manages student, staff, and assessment data and transmits appropriate documentation as directed by the Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The district-wide Social Health Curriculum is also under the purview of this office, and is coordinated by the building-based Guidance Counselors. The Office of Instruction serves as a clearinghouse for information on current educational opportunities, research trends, and new approaches to teaching and learning.
