    Class:  Review deadlines for upcoming poems in Creative Poetry Instructions 2019.  A few group poetry videos will be shared.  Go on to introduce Assignment 2 2018 Specific poem forms and styles A
     
    H.W: Begin working on your next specific style poem, Assignment #2 that is due on Wednesday.

    Tuesday, April 9  Day 2 Presentation by high school students to 6th grade 10-11.  Teachers will be flipping period D and F, as a result.
     
    Class:  Students will have the period to work on their individual poems that are due tomorrow. 

    H.W.: Finish up your poems (or one concrete poem, if this is what you have chosen) for tomorrow's class.  It is due at the BEGINNING OF CLASS.

    Wednesday, April 11  Day 1 Late night help is CANCELLED today.
     
    Class: Students will share out poems and read over and discuss Assignment 3 More specific poetry revised 
    H.W  Begin working on your next poem.  Will you write a sonnet, a narrative, an ode, etc?  Begin tonight with your brainstorming.  We will have time in class tomorrow, too, but you need to come in with a rough draft/idea of what your plan is.  It is due at the start of class on Friday.

     

    Wednesday, April 10  Day 1  Late night help is CANCELLED today.
     
    Class: Introduction to new unit on ancient Greece. Watch the Animated film on Ancient Greece and complete the accompanying Horrible Histories Ancient Greece

    H.W.:  Finish the film and worksheet if not completed in class. Also, please make arrangements to take your Egypt/Mesopotamia project home by Friday.

     

    Thursday, April 11  Day 2 
     
    Class:  Students will work individually on their Assignment #3 Specific Poem, following the guidelines in the document presented on Wednesday.
    H.W.:  Your specific poem style for Assignment #3 is due at the BEGINNING OF CLASS ON FRIDAY.
    Thursday, April 11  Day  2
     
    Class:  Discuss the answers to the worksheet on the animated video on ancient Greece.  We will look at a few maps of Greece and discuss how its geography shaped the culture of its ancient people. Ancient Greece Geography ; Map of Ancient Greece Overview and World Atlas Map of Greece) Students will read the opening Chapter 10 section 1 pp. 300-301
     
    H.W: Make arrangements to take your Egypt project home, if applicable. 

    2. Whatever we did not get through in class, be sure to complete.  Then, answer the following question in a well-developed paragraph.  Explain 3 ways in which the geography of ancient Greece shaped the culture of its people?   

    Friday, April 12  Day 1  Report cards are released in Aspen at 2:00
     
    Class:  Assignment #3 due at the start of class today. Students will share out their poems and we will go over more of past students' anthology poems. 

    H.W.: Have a fabulous and safe spring vacation.

    Class: We will read pp. 302-303 and discuss on human and natural events affect migration.  Introduction to the mythology that impacts Greek history, specifically Homer's epic poem "The Iliad." The Trojan War Briefly Explained and Trojan Horse Clip from the movie Troy
