Welcome

                                  Good bye vacation!

                            Hello to school.

                            Hello to classmates,

                            Good bye old pool.

                            Vacation time is over,

                            School time is here.

                            Once more we welcome

                            Another school year.

Way Up In The Apple Tree

Way up in the apple tree,

two little apples smiled at me!

I shook the tree just as hard

as I could....

Down came the apples....

mmm....they were good!

I shook the tree just as hard

as I could....

Down came the apples....

mmm...they were good!

Winter Poems

My Teeth

I need my teeth to chew my food.

I need my teeth to bite.

So I brush to keep them healthy,

And I brush to keep them white.

I eat good foods and drink my milk

To help my teeth stay strong.

I want to keep them healthy,

So I'll have them all life long!

Winter Clothes

Under my hood I have a hat

And under that

My hair is flat.

Under my coat

My sweater's blue.

My sweater's red.

I'm wearing two.

My muffler muffles to my chin.

And around my neck

And then tucks in.

My gloves were knitted

By my aunts.

I've mittens too

And pants

And pants

And boots

And shoes

With socks inside.

The boots are rubber red and wide.

And when I walk

I must not fall

Because I can't get up at all.

Spring poems

Wonderful Water

Water helps the flowers grow.
Water gets me clean.
Water washes all the clothes
In the washing machine.
Water fills a swimming pool,
And lakes and rivers, too.
If we had no water,
I wonder what we'd do?

Bear

Bear yawned and stretched
And scratched his chest.
"It's wintertime.
I need a rest."

Bear munched and growled,
Then curled up tight.
Bear closed his eyes
And said goodnight.

Bear slept and snored
For months, and then
Bear opened his eyes
And growled again.

Bear yawned and stretched
And gave a howl.
"Springtime's back," Bear said.
"It's time to prowl!"

Summer Poems

The Swing

How would you like to go up in a swing,

Up in the air so blue?

Oh, I do think it the pleasantest thing

Ever a child can do!

Up in the air and over the wall,

Till I can see so wide,

Rivers and trees and cattle and all

Over the countryside-

Till I look down on the garden green,

Down on the roof so brown-

Up in the air I go flying again,

Up in the air and down!

Robert Louis Stevenson

The Acrobats

I'll swing

By my ankles,

She'll cling

To your knees

As you hang

By your nose

From a high-up

Trapeze.

But just one thing, please,

As we float through the breeze-

Don't sneeze.

Shel Silverstein
