Description of Activity: What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will students demonstrate what they know and are able to do?

Students will sort through participles in various forms and in combination with other parts of speech to improve their ability to recognize particles, differentiate them from other parts of speech, and through experience see how participles fit into the inflection patterns of nouns and verbs.

  • Using which case students will categorize participles by their case endings
  • Using infinitive or participle students will sort participles from infinitives
  • Using singular or plural students will sort participles into their singular and plural forms, regardless of case, along with some nouns, pronouns, and adjectives
