| Description of Activity:
What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during
the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will
students demonstrate what they know and are able to do? The learning experience shall be to read whole, half, quarter, eighth, sixteenth, and dotted notes as well as rests in 2/4, 3/4, 4/4, 6/8, 3/8, 9/8, and alla breve meter signatures. Use standard notation to record their musical ideas and those of others. Also, in an instrumental ensemble or class: sight read accurately and expressively, music with a level of difficulty of 3 on a scale of 1 to 6.

are involved in this activity? The programs Encore and Band in a Box are necessary to do this activity.

Teacher Tips and Notes:
What strategies are recommended regarding logistics, preparation, classroom
management, or other implementation concerns? Teachers need to prep the class in basic notation and basic percussion/instrumental sounds. A presentation projector is needed. To keep the class on task, the melody, rhythm, and harmonization should be played often and varied in its approach. The complete project is easily understood and progress is instantaneously heard. |
