Description of Activity: What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will students demonstrate what they know and are able to do?

Students will learn how to access information on the Civil War or Crossing Prejudice Barriers through multiple sources: including books, reference materials and the Internet. Each student will choose a topic from the handout and give an oral and visual presentation of the information he/she accessed through the various sources to the class. The teacher will guide students to sources and problem shoot any Internet glitches.

Technology Standards Addressed: This learning activity will allow students to develop proficiency in the following Norwell Public Schools technology standards:

Teacher Tips and Notes: What strategies are recommended regarding logistics, preparation, classroom management, or other implementation concerns?

1) The teacher should pull and put on hold any books which students might use so that all students can have access to these materials.

2) The teacher can also help guide students with websites
