Technology-Enhanced Learning Activity Summary |
| Name: Christina Austin | School: Cole, Norwell |
| Learning Activity Title: Favorite Region of the US | |
| Grade Level(s): 3 | Subject Area: Social Studies |
| Description of Activity:
What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during
the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will
students demonstrate what they know and are able to do? After studying the seven regions of the US, students will create a classroom graph of their favorite regions. A survey will be posted on our classroom web page in Quia. Students will then take the results of the survey and create various types of graphs in Graph Club. These various graphs can be posted in the classroom and the results can be posted on our classroom web page for all to see. As an extension we could take a map of the US and put some sort of markers or flag to show how many students voted for that particular region. Students could then write a paragraph explaining why they voted for that particular region. They could even make a travel brochure to entice people to come visit this region.
