Learning Activity Title: Multimedia Portfolios
Grade Level(s): 3 Subject Area: All Content Areas
Description of Activity: What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will students demonstrate what they know and are able to do?

Students will select samples of work to demonstrate growth across the year, including but not limited to:

-Scanned examples of best work: handwriting, creative writing, art work, etc.

-Reading samples: recording of child reading text 

-Demonstration of mastery of math, science, social studies concepts (example: imported graph demonstrating mastery of line graphs)

Each slide will also display the child's evaluative comments on their piece of work. Each child will use a quarterly check list to help scaffold the work selection process. The slide creation will involve scanning work, importing files, and multimedia authoring using mPower or PowerPoint. Mastery of multimedia authoring will be demonstrated through the creation of the portfolio slideshow. Each quarter, the portfolio can be evaluated with a portfolio rubric.
