| Description of Activity:
What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during
the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will
students demonstrate what they know and are able to do? Children will demonstrate their knowledge of frog facts and how they are different from toads. This lesson is also a review of computer skills they have learned in first grade. Children will use the stamp tool to stamp five frogs across the top of the page and then use the typewriter tool to type their three facts. This is a good multisensory activity with both a teacher demonstration as well as a written direction. |

Teacher Tips and Notes:
What strategies are recommended regarding logistics, preparation, classroom
management, or other implementation concerns? Remember to create and print out a set of instructions for each child as well as your parent helpers. Make sure that these directions are clear. Review them before you go to the lab. A ratio of four children to one adult is best for classroom management and for answering questions. As this software has no spell check, remind the children that their work must be checked by an adult before they print. Once the children have completed this activity, they can then choose another animal to write about. |
