Learning Activity Title: Fossil Study
Grade Level(s): 2 Subject Area: Science
Description of Activity: What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will students demonstrate what they know and are able to do?

This activity will acquaint the students with the MaxShow part of the Scholastic Keys Software. They must draw a type of fossil, such as a bone, a plant, a shell, or an insect caught in amber. Using vocabulary generated during  a previous "brainstorming" session they must explain what their fossil is and how it was formed. This activity will show how they are able to manipulate the drawing tools and add a text box and save their work in a file.
