The students will go to the web site  http://matti.usa.edu/nlvm/nav/vlibrary.html and click: Grade 2, Geometry, Attribute Sort. The students will sort various Attribute blocks to determine what the rule is for each  Venn Diagram.

Technology Standards Addressed: This learning activity will allow students to develop proficiency in the following Norwell Public Schools technology standards:

  1.0 General Computing Skills

The strand is General Computing skills.

The standard is Geometry, 2.G.6 Predicting the results of putting shapes together.

This lesson coordinates with Everyday Mathematics Unit 5. This lesson can be done as a follow up the lesson 5.1 Exploration A "Figuring Out Attribute Rules" or for independent practice.

This lesson can be done on the classroom computers in small groups or in the computer lab.
