| Description of Activity:
What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during
the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will
students demonstrate what they know and are able to do? Children will create a graphic organizer for prewriting. Example of main idea - "I opened my own restaurant." They will answer who, what, where, and why questions as spin-offs of the main idea. The first draft copies will follow after the organizer. As a follow-up lesson, the children could create a menu for their restaurant. |

- Inspiration for organizer - Word for typing paragraph (if choose to type) - KidPix for follow-up (such as menu example) |
Teacher Tips and Notes:
What strategies are recommended regarding logistics, preparation, classroom
management, or other implementation concerns? Students should have prior knowledge and practice using graphic organizers to prepare for writing. Create a sample organizer on Inspiration to show the students what you expect them to include on their web (who, what, where,…). Once students complete their organizers, they can print them and use to write their paragraphs. |
