| Description of Activity:
What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during
the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will
students demonstrate what they know and are able to do? Students will, in small groups, take a survey of their classmates to learn their favorite pets (as well as other favorites!). They will decide on four choices and use a tally sheet provided by the teacher to record the data from the entire class. They will then transfer their recorded information to the computer program, The Graph Club, to create a graph of the data. They will then report their findings to the class, displaying their data on the graph |

Teacher Tips and Notes:
What strategies are recommended regarding logistics, preparation, classroom
management, or other implementation concerns? Introduction to The Graph Club software as a whole class activity is necessary to familiarize the students with the software. Time spent "discovering" using the software is also advised before the students conduct this small group activity. We conducted this during center time, as one of the center activities, changing the category of the favorite with each new group. |
