| Description of Activity:
What is the learning experience? What will teachers and students do during
the course of the activity? Through what performances or products will
students demonstrate what they know and are able to do? The students will be able to use KidPix to design and create a catalogue or archive of activities and events of importance during the school year. This will be an ongoing project that will begin in September and be added to as each curriculum unit is presented. Student participation will involve planning, organizing, writing, illustrating, and developing this project. Their skills in these area will continue to grow and develop as the project unfolds during the year. The class will be taught the basics of KidPix in the classroom and will be able to add to the slideshow. As their capabilities increase, involvement in creating pages will also increase.

Teacher Tips and Notes:
What strategies are recommended regarding logistics, preparation, classroom
management, or other implementation concerns? Students will have to be familiar with KidPix and basic computer and keyboarding skills as well as early writing skills to fully participate. At the beginning of this project, much of the input by the students will be with the help of the teacher, and then as the year unfolds more of the pages will be student created. |
