Timeline & Checklist For Seniors

College Application Checklist:

1. Make sure you have completed, or are completing, the items on the Junior checklist, particularly items 7-12.

2. Sign up early for October, November, or December SAT I and SAT II tests. Consult college catalogs for SAT II requirements.

3. You must have your scores forwarded to schools directly by ETS (The College Board). Use the spaces provided for this on the SAT registration form or see the SAT registration booklet to send scores (on-line, by mail, or via phone).

4. Request teacher recommendations weeks before deadlines.

5. Carefully fill out application forms. Get someone to proofread your essay, if one is required.

Follow Directions & Meet Deadlines

Don't forget to include a check for the application fee.
Sign the application.
If required, have your parents sign the application.

6. Make appointments as needed with your counselor.

7. Check once again to make sure you have taken all of the tests required by the colleges to which you are applying and that you have had your scores sent.

8. Take note of all financial aid deadlines.

For each completed application, you must submit the following:

I. Four 1st class postage stamps (required to mail school portion of college application, which is oversized).

II. Secondary School Report Forms or Counselor Recommendation Forms when necessary.

III. Midyear Report Forms, if necessary.
