STUDENT WORK WILL FOCUS UPON THE FOLLOWING NHS EXPECTATIONS FOR STUDENT LEARNING:

Use technology as a learning tool

Use a variety of strategies for attaining knowledge

Identify a problem

Collect and organize information

Draw logical conclusions

Compile interpret and communicate data

  • Speak, write and present clearly, accurately and effectively in a variety of modes to engage diverse audiences

Course Expectations:

In Order for all students to learn, they must feel safe and comfortable in the learning environment; to make this possible there is one rule: Students must respect the classroom, other students and the school.

This is a college level science course designed not only to prepare students in the subject area of biology, and the ability to think scientifically but also to gain an appreciation for the complexity and awesome power of the natural world.

Homework is not accepted late. 

GRADING SYSTEM:

The grading policy will focus on four key areas: Formal assessment (tests and quizzes), lab activities, homework, and class participation.  Each assessment will be given a point value; all points will be added at the end of the term and divided by the total number of points possible this percentage is the student’s average.
