Administrative Services comprises those administrative functions integral to the operation of the school system, but not involved with direct delivery of educational services. These functions include Student Transportation, Food Service,
Facility Use, Maintenance and Custodial Services, Personnel and Finance. Questions or issues regarding these functions can be directed to John Ferris, Director of Administrative Services, individual building principals or by clicking on the specific functions to obtain additional contacts.

Student Transportation

Regular student transportation is provided by Ryder Student Transportation. For information regarding bus routes please see the Norwell Mariner and the Patriot Ledger during the last two weeks in August. School Principals, the Office of Administrative Services and local Ryder manager Martha McCaffery can provide this information. Martha can be reached at 982-2246. Issues regarding behavior and or bus service should be directed to the appropriate School Principal or the Director of Administrative Services.

Special needs student transportation is coordinated by the Office of Student Services - Ellen Willard or Susanne Walsh and is arranged on an individual needs basis.

Food Services

Meals prepared in conjunction with National School Lunch Program regulations are provided at all schools. Daily menus are published in the Norwell Mariner and elementary school newsletters. Specific questions or concerns should be directed to the appropriate School Principal, the Director of Administrative Service (J. Ferris)  or the Director of Food Services Judy Crooks 781-659-8800 at 322 Main Street, Norwell.

Facility Use

Norwell Public School's facilities are available for use by community groups upon request and as available. School programs are given first priority and the Town of Norwell Recreation Commission is given second priority. Use of a facility is obtained by preparing a "Use Request Form". Forms are available at each school and the Recreation Commission at the Town Hall (phone: 659-8046). All requests for athletic facilities (fields and gymnasiums) must be submitted to the Recreation Commission first. The School Committee reserves the right to charge a fee if deemed appropriate. If use is requested during a period when the school is not normally opened, a Custodial Fee is charged to open and close the building.
Checks should be made payable to "Norwell School Department- Facility Use".
