Freshman Soccer Information
1. I will attempt to give equal time to every player.
2. Each player will play both defense and offense.
3. Practice will go from roughly 3:15-4:45(5:00) - NEVER longer than 2 hours.
4. GPA Days
The Boys Soccer Program has made a commitment to balancing athletics and their academics. This is most important for the incoming freshman who are new to the academic pressures of High School. On days where it states "GPA Day" on the calendar, your son must attend a late night academic session with a teacher from 2:40-3:30pm. The next day at practice or a game your son will bring a note stating that they attended the late night. If your son does not have this note, they will not be allowed to play in the next game. It is the expectation that all soccer athlete’s excel in their academic life.
5. Strength and conditioning
One day a week the team will workout in the weight room or at the track. The workout could be endurance or strength training. On strength / conditioning days practice will be no longer than one hour. This is due to the intensity level of the workout.
****By the end of the season your son with have the knowledge and experience to strength train on their own.
I look forward to a great season. Please have patience with the game schedule. As a former athletic director I know how difficult it is to schedule and reschedule freshman programs.
Thank you
