The Norwell High School theater program, The Fourth Wall Players, exists to nurture and develop student skill and provide students with an opportunity to partake in the theater arts.  Students are introduced to a wide range of theatrical works and develop their skills as performers, student directors, designers, and technical theater craftsmen.  In particular, they learn teamwork as part of an ensemble.

The Fourth Wall Players (4WPs) are Norwell High School's theatre company.  Each year the company presents three seasons of theatre - fall, winter, and spring.  The winter season always includes a one-act play which competes in the Massachusetts Educational Theater Guild (METG, formerly MHSDG) high school theater festival.  On average, the 4WPs present a musical every two years.

Recent years have been fortunate ones for the 4WPs.  They have been finalists in 3 of the last 5 years in METG festivals, finishing as one of the top 14 schools in Massachusetts in each of those competitions.  In 2008, they represented the state at the New England Theatre Festival and, for the past four years, have been invited to represent the U.S. at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland.

The 4WPs are guided by Norwell High School's theatre director and acting teacher, Chris Lacy.
